Coming from a culturally rich family background,Prajakta had this love for literature in her genes.Her mother Mrs.Manjushree Gokhale is a known author and has been honoured by the president herself for her marathi novel "Tukyachi avali".
While growing up Prajakta developed interest in reading and music.This hobby of reading and her inborn talent grew with her age which further nurtured and helped putting her thoughts on paper.That was her first step towards her journey of being a poetess.
During her college days with her academic priorities rising,this hobby took a back seat.After her marriage also she used to write some poems once in while as she barely got any free time with family and job responsibilies.
But when she went to America with her husband Mr.Jagdish Patwardhan in 2006,she got her own space and time.Her love for reading introduced her to whole new world of marathi websites and blogs where she spent hours reading
poetry, articles, short stories etc whatever was available.Now she was a regular member of those websites and found a way to channelize her hidden potentials there.She started writing poems, gazals,articles, short stories etc.on these websites and marathi newspapers
with all the needed encouragement and support from her friends who were members of these sites and her husband.With his constant help and cheering now prajakta has her own website "www.praaju.net".
Over a span of 3 years,Prajakta has written around 100 poems, 25 gazals and same no. of articles and short stories.Meanwhile Prajakta's mother visited her website and suggested her to publish a compilation of some of her poems.And as a result of efforts put in by herself, her husband and her mother,
Prajakta's first book "phulanchi arjave" was published by Dilipraj prakashan on may 9th 2010.
With all the accolades she got for her kavita sangrha,Prajakta was all set to make one more move to turn her dream of releasing an audio album to reality.She approached music composer Mr.Abhijit rane and the ball started rolling. With everything falling in place,her first audio album "Gandha halke halke.."
is now being released.It has a few poems from "Phulanchi arjave".
The album has turned out simply melodious with outstanding music composition by Abhijit Rane, Prashant Lalit and Abhijit Narvekar and leading singers like Bela Shende,Vaishali Samant,Madhura Datar,Amruta Kale,Sangita Chitale and Paulami Pathe have lend their voices which is cherry on the cake.Album is a delight
for the music lovers.
Gandha halke halke.. release function will be held at Patrakar Bhavan,Ganjave chowk,Navi peth on July 18th 2010 at 10:00am.The event is slated to be a bonanza for the poetry and music lovers as all the singers will recite the poems from the album and there are some dance performances by Manali Sovani on some of the songs in the album.
